Another installment of Things That Don’t Have To Do With Obsolescence:

The Nation is organizing a cruise next month. There will be a bevy of guest speakers, including E.L. Doctorow, Calvin Trillin, Howard Dean, and The Nation’s publishers, Victor Navasky and Katrina vanden Heuvel. And my dad! A.k.a, the “celebrated political cartoonist and illustrator” Robert Grossman.

I’m posting this for selfish reasons: I want to go! If any editors are reading this and would like to send someone to cover this week-long cruise for your publication, I’m your lady. Or maybe someone needs a date? Just putting this out there, people. I don’t thinkblogs are really wish-granting devices, but you can’t blame me for trying…
