I’m asking rhetorically only. It’s pretty ugly and I’m rather sure you won’t want to make it. Jessica, my most crafty friend, has one rule about glue guns: Don’t use them. If two things were meant to be stuck together, there should be a better way to do it. She shared that pearl of wisdom with me many years ago, and now I offer it to you.

Carabaas — «asimov_trs.jpg» на Яндекс.Фотках

Carabaas — «asimov_trs.jpg» на Яндекс.Фотках

Gizmodo asks: Is It Time To Consider Life Without Real, Touchable Books?

Gizmodo asks: Is It Time To Consider Life Without Real, Touchable Books? : Book lover Rosa Golijan...

This video about OBSOLETE, which was made by Mike Kravinsky of...

This video about OBSOLETE, which was made by Mike Kravinsky of NextNik.com, was featured last week on ABC News Now. The one that held your favorite movie—or at least half of it? I recall as a kid that some movies were inexplicably on two tapes and I had no younger sibling to go switch it over for me.

The VHS nostalgia movement doesn’t seem to have the same traction as the post-digital music audiotape cult. Nevertheless, should you want to honor the medium, head over to CentennialMerchant’s shop on Etsy and you can get yours made into an external hard drive. Of course, you could just put the VHS box over your current external hard drive and save yourself $134.99. Still, they’re kind of cool.

For the last few months, my husband and I have been making do with no more than a table, bed, armoire and a few chairs. It was kind of both heaven and hell to have such few things. All that changed today when my husband’s furniture arrived from Spain. To be honest, I hardly noticed the parade of boxes and Spanish commands being shouted back and forth and the piles of emptied cardboard boxes and balls of used tape flying through the place like tumble weeds. Why? I had fallen into the rabbit hole that is radioshackcatalogs.com. The owner of this site has painstakingly documented RadioShack catalogs, photos, history, and then some. Do you love RadioShack? Neither do I. And yet, I was transfixed by this love letter to the company (which was started out as a Boston store for leftover Army equipment in 1921. Its founders were two brothers, Theodore and Milton Shack. I mean, Theodore and Milton Deutschmann).

This is a very rich little site. The above videos are just some of the riches it has to offer.
