Could we call this a “cattle call?” Are they equipped with ramswering machines? Do they belong to the Farmer in the Dial?
That’s all I got.

Jack Szwergold, reader extraordinaire, just sent me this video. It made me smile so much that now I need botox. He writes:
“So technically speaking, the whole premise of Martians not understanding what a landline phone is is now itself obsolete? Any kid nowadays who sees this would be as baffled as these felt puppets are, right?”
Yes. I’d agree with that statement.
This thing is really cool! Why didn’t it ever catch on? Maybe because it could only be used if you had the hand of a tyrannosaurus?

Original song by Nikolai Witschl and Stuart Hoye, aka Nik and Stu. I don’t know them, but I wish I did. The video element of this is kind of whatever but I dig the tune. Sing it, boys!

ITEM: ‘Rotalight’ by Downstairs Studio
I love flashlights. I love rotary phones. Here we see a mashup between these two cherished items in the ‘Rotaphone’ by Canadian/Japanese design team Downstairs Studio. Simply pick up the handset to turn on the light and use the rotary dial to adjust the brightness. Quirky! Fun! Possibly useless!
